At the top of the ladder, chief technology officers in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies command annual packages of ฿6.48 million to ฿7.92 million. AI managers, a role growing in demand as firms invest in automation, earn between ฿1.6 million and ฿2.0 million per year.

For local engineers willing to work remotely for US employers, the upside is even higher. Some roles open to Thai-based talent offer up to $200,000 USD per year, particularly for candidates based in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, according to recruitment platform Aware.

Big employers and growth sectors

The market is dominated by multinational giants. Grab, Lazada, Agoda, and the country arms of major Big Tech firms are the mainstays, hiring in volume for software engineering, data, and product roles. The startup scene, by contrast, remains relatively small compared to Singapore or US cities, as ManpowerGroup Thailand notes.

Key growth sectors include eCommerce, fintech, and crypto/blockchain, though the overall market remains smaller than regional peers like Singapore.
