Bangkok's 23,000 Tech Jobs Transform Ride-Hailing, Shopping, Travel Apps
More than 23,000 technology roles now listed in the city support faster ride-hailing, shopping and travel tools that residents use every day.
How we reported this
Bangkok lists over 23,000 technology job openings, with software engineers alone accounting for 879 positions in the Phra Nakhon district. These roles target skills such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, Vue.js, React and AI/ML frameworks, and most postings require fluency in both Thai and English.
The volume of openings matters now because companies filling them maintain and expand the platforms that handle everyday tasks. Grab, Lazada and Agoda appear among the active employers, and their apps manage transport bookings, online purchases and hotel reservations for thousands of residents each week.
Recruitment activity and salary ranges
Michael Page, Robert Walters and JAC Recruitment currently place candidates across banking, telecoms, FMCG and digital transformation projects. Entry-level positions start at THB35,000 to THB45,000 per month. Senior AI Manager packages reach THB1.62 million to THB1.98 million annually, while CTO roles in FMCG command THB6.48 million to THB7.92 million a year.
Thailand-wide figures show just under 210 IT vacancies open at present, including 95 programmer and developer spots and 61 tester positions. DevOps and architect roles remain fewer but continue to appear on the same boards.
Events and meetups that connect candidates to projects
